Apple's shares have closed the day at a record $349.51 after Wednesday's trading day, buoyed by the election like the rest of the NASDAQ.
Following Apple's quarterly results, it is typical for the share price to take a hit for a short period of time before bouncing back to where it was. Following the November 2 results, AAPL has rebounded in a big way.
Apple's stock started the day at $341.56, rising to a high of $354.50 before eventually closing out at a record close of $349.51, up 5.31% on the previous day's close. The previous record high close was $348.91 on October 29.
As for why the shares have gone up, it's attributable to several factors.
The most obvious is a reaction to the midterm election in the U.S. It occurs alongside a general rise for all of the FAANG stocks, with NASDAQ also up as a whole during the time:
- Meta opened at $641.15 after closing at $621.03 on Tuesday. It closed today at $630.00, up 1.44%.
- Amazon opened at $264.82 after closing at $250.69 on Tuesday. It closed today at $266.03, up 6.12%.
- Netflix opened at $64.55 after closing at $63.42 on Tuesday. It closed today at $66.39, up 4.68%.
- Alphabet started at $281.48m, up from Tuesday's close of $278.27. It concluded at $287.30, up 3.25%.
Notably, SpaceX and Nvidia are down.
SpaceX started the day at $133.24, after ending Tuesday on $141.31. At the end of Wednesday's trading, it finished at $135.83, down 3.88% from the previous day's close.
Nvidia started Wednesday at $203.50, also down from the previous day's close of $206.69. It ended Wednesday at $200.13, down 3.17%.
As for NASDAQ, the opening of 25,736.51 was up from the previous close of 25,372.01. The end-of-day number was 25,736.51, up 1.44% overall.
There's also likely a delayed reaction to the Q4 results, which saw it haul in $114.5 billion. This was up from the Wall Street consensus of $113.4 billion, and also up from the $102.5 billion it reported in Q4 2025.
Digging into the results, iPhone revenue was up to $57.6 billion, with other units also seeing improvements. Apple even benefited from a second tariff refund payment.
