An iPad mini refresh with an OLED panel is expected at the end of October, but it seems Apple may have leaked its existence early thanks to a French Regulatory website.
There may be a lot of rumors and anonymous tipsters out there trying to reveal Apple's upcoming products, but sometimes the leaks come from within the company itself. An iPad mini was almost certain to arrive before the end of 2026, but now Apple seems to have confirmed it.
A French Apple regulatory webpage was first discovered by MacRumors containing an iPad identifier that didn't belong to any existing model. The listing is for a Smart Folio for iPad mini belonging to model A3632.
Apple's "Identify your iPad model" webpage doesn't contain that model number. If you've ever paid much attention to these model numbers, they don't appear to conform to any real rhyme or reason.
The current iPad mini with A17 Pro has an A2993 model number, while iPhone 17e is the closest to this new iPad mini's sequence with an A3634 number. A leak of several model numbers in August didn't contain this model number.
All this leak does is confirm what rumors have been saying for months. Expect the new iPad mini with increased water resistance and an OLED display to be revealed during Apple's expected October 28 event.
