After releasing macOS 27.2 beta 1 earlier today, Apple is now rolling out the first RCs of macOS Tahoe 26.7.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.8.1. Here are the details.

RCs for macOS Tahoe 26.7.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.8.1 now available

In what is likely a decision to avoid leaking additional details about the iPhone Duo, Apple today released the first developer betas of its 27.2 operating systems, completely skipping over the 27.1 beta cycle.

For Mac developers, in addition to releasing macOS 27.2 beta 1, Apple has also released the first release candidates of macOS Tahoe 26.7.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.8.1.

Both release notes mention only the default “this update provides important security fixes and is recommended for all users,” which is to be expected from minor updates.

Today’s RCs come just days after Apple officially released macOS Tahoe 26.7 and macOS Sequoia 15.8, further reflecting the company’s broader push to accelerate software development and bug fixing with the help of AI-assisted tools.

The release build for macOS Tahoe 26.7.1 RC 1 is 25G309, while the build for macOS Sequoia 15.8.1’s first RC is 24H208.
