The Apple Store is currently down, with the company saying that it is "making changes" to its online shopping site and leaving people temporarily unable to buy iPhones and more.
Apple has yet to confirm why the store is down, but given the timing, it's likely to be preparation for its annual Back to School sale. The sales launch every year around this time, offering students and educators a way to save money on their Apple purchases.
However, it's also possible that Apple is readying price increases across the store. The company recently confirmed that price increases were on the way amid ongoing global parts shortages.
It's Back to School time
However, the most likely reason for the Apple Store being taken down is the Back to School promotion. And while direct discounts are unlikely, there are still sure to be ways to save money.
Apple typically allows students to buy cheaper AirPods alongside the purchase of a Mac, for example. Other sales have seen Apple give free gift cards to those who buy specific products.
For now though, all eyes will be on the Apple Store to see when it comes back and what has changed when it does.
