Apple TV has a strong fall lineup coming up, including four weeks straight of big premieres that kick off next week with critical hit Slow Horses. Here’s what’s coming.
September 16: Slow Horses (season 6)
Slow Horses continues its streak of debuting new seasons every year, and season 6 sounds like a standout winner per reviews.
This British espionage series based on Mick Herron’s novels returns with more dark humor, thrilling plot twists, and the beloved Slough House crew led by Gary Oldman’s Jackson Lamb.

This darkly funny espionage drama follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 due to their career-ending mistakes. Led by their brilliant but irascible leader, the notorious Jackson Lamb (Academy Award winner Sir Gary Oldman), they navigate the espionage world’s smoke and mirrors to defend England from sinister forces.

September 23: Brothers
Brothers pairs stars and longtime friends Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in a new comedy series with a fun premise.
The showrunner, Lee Eisenberg, is best known as writer and producer behind some of the best seasons of sitcom The Office.
Here’s the official series summary:
“Brothers” follows McConaughey and Harrelson, who play fictionalized versions of themselves, and whose lifelong friendship is thrown into chaos when they uncover a decades-old secret: they might actually be brothers. After Woody’s daughter’s wedding falls apart, he loads up the family and heads to Austin for an extended stay at Matthew’s ranch. But what begins as a healing getaway quickly spirals when Matthew’s mother, Ma Mac (played by Holland Taylor), accidentally lets slip a long-buried secret that the two friends might actually be brothers. As Woody turns the ranch upside down in pursuit of the truth, Matthew finds himself juggling an entirely different identity crisis: a potential run for Governor of Texas. The result is a heartfelt, chaotic and wildly funny story about friendship, family, fame and the messy line between myth and reality.

October 2: The Last First: Winter K2
The Last First: Winter K2 is a documentary exploring the high-risk practice of extreme mountain climbing.
The film has a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, and many reviews highlight that it offers a unique angle that could surprise viewers. Per Variety: “The Last First is a revealing look at how they risked their lives for an ideal, maybe for an addiction. It’s a movie that shows us the dark side of literally getting high.”

In “The Last First: Winter K2,” Amir Bar-Lev tells a complex, harrowing and moving story that takes an unflinching look at the industry of extreme mountain climbing and its changing culture. October 7 & 9: Small Prophets and Matchbox The Movie
Small Prophets arrives October 7 as a unique addition to Apple TV’s library. Unlike nearly every other show Apple offers for streaming, it’s not original to the service. Instead, Apple licensed the show after it became a hit in the UK earlier this year. It’s an award-winning comedy that viewers around the globe will soon get to enjoy for the first time.
Matchbox The Movie premieres October 9, a new action-comedy film inspired by the Mattel toys. It’s the kind of movie that feels very theatrical, with big stars and a big budget, but will premiere exclusively on Apple TV.

“Small Prophets” is a comic tale of the eccentric Michael Sleep (Pearce Quigley) who, since his darling Clea disappeared seven years ago, has lived a very ordinary life. He works in a DIY store, visits his dad Brian (Sir Michael Palin) and hopes for Clea to return. One day Brian shares an old recipe involving rainwater, horse manure and more than a little alchemy. With recipe in hand, Michael sets out (albeit with some skepticism) to create homunculi — magical spirits that can predict the future — in the hope they have the answer to his burning question: “will I ever see Clea again?”
“Matchbox The Movie” is an action-packed, globetrotting adventure about a group of friends since childhood who have their lives upended when undercover CIA agent Sean (John Cena), their long-absent former leader, returns to their small town and unwittingly gets them embroiled in a frantic international pursuit to save the world.
