Tim Cook, Elton John, and King Charles showed up to Apple Music Hall to meet the young people participating in the newly launched Apple x King's Trust Creative Labs.
Apple offers a lot of educational experiences for young technologists and developers around the world. One is thanks to a partnership with the King's Trust, which seeks to help empower young people to explore potential career pathways.
According to a post from The Royal Family and Apple Music on Instagram, the King, Tim Cook, and Elton John met with the young creatives at Battersea Power Station. After their meeting, they all attended a sound check performed by Skye Newman ahead of her live performance in Apple Music Hall.
The Apple x King's Trust Creative Labs offer opportunities to learn from Apple's experts across various creative industries. The King's Trust is celebrating its 50th year with support from Apple and Elton John.
"At Apple, we believe education is a powerful force for equity and opportunity," said Alisha Johnson Wilder, Apple's senior director of Global Community Impact. "For years, we've been proud to work alongside The King's Trust to spark creativity and open doors for young people across the UK. With the launch of the Apple x King's Trust Creative Labs, we're taking that commitment further, connecting the next generation of creators and innovators directly with our experts, technology, and mentorship to help them build vital skills, discover their passions, and thrive in the workforce."
The visit also highlighted Apple's work in the Battersea Power Station revitalizing the music venue inside. There was already an Apple Store inside, but now, there's Apple Music Hall.
Additional reporting from The BBC shared that Prophet Guillory, Apple Music's head of artist services, tools, and community was there to welcome the group. The King complimented Guillory on his work.
"Together with Apple, we have already opened up valuable opportunities for thousands of young people across the UK through our longstanding partnership," said Jonathan Townsend, The King's Trust's UK chief executive. "We are proud to build on this work with the Creative Labs program, an exciting new chapter in our partnership that will help even more young people develop the confidence and creative digital skills they need to take their next steps toward employment. We cannot wait to see how they use these experiences to realize their potential and discover where their talents can take them."
It was a simple visit that highlighted Apple's work and the King's Trust investment in young people's futures in creative endeavors. Other global initiatives include an Apple Education Hub in India and Apple Manufacturing Academy in the US.
