Apple may never earn enough money to satisfy investors, regulations force more rules for iOS developers, and Audio Intelligence is a very controversial feature on the AppleInsider Podcast.

Another earnings call has come and gone, but this time it was CEO John Ternus at the helm. Sure, he read off prepared statements, but so has Tim Cook for every previous earnings call.

Your hosts discuss just how much money Apple made, where it stands compared to its competitors, and what might be feeding into Apple's high revenue and margins. It's an incredible quarter that tops even the 2020 holiday quarter.

Regulations are pushing Apple to make more specific rules around location sharing and dating apps. AI apps that enable romantic interactions are also being age gated with more specific rules.

Also, Apple has released the first beta of iOS 27.3 and the rest. There are a lot of new features to unpack, including ones that weren't announced for WWDC.

BONUS: Subscribe via Patreon or Apple Podcasts to hear AppleInsider+, the extended edition. This time, your hosts discuss what it would mean for Apple Intelligence and Siri AI to offer agentic features. Plus, Agatha the black cat makes an appearance.
