Apple's budget-friendly MacBook Neo is seeing big success in the global education market, with 170,000 units sold to students and teachers in the Philippines.
Announced in March 2026, the MacBook Neo is the first Apple laptop powered by an iPhone chip: the A18 Pro. Though initially priced at $499 for the education market, Apple raised the price to $649 in late October 2026.
Recent price increases aside, the MacBook Neo remains the cheapest MacBook that can be purchased from Apple. As such, it only makes sense that the low-cost laptop found a significant customer base among students and educators, especially in emerging markets.
During Apple's quarterly earnings call, held on Monday, the company revealed it had sold 170,000 MacBook Neo units to teachers and students in the Philippines. This is one of Apple's most significant education deals and serves to highlight the success of the MacBook Neo.
"Opportunities like this bring more users into our ecosystem and help fuel growth across our business," said Apple CEO John Ternus during the company's earnings call. In the Philippines, the 256GB MacBook Neo is priced at roughly $721.25 for the education market, with the 512GB model going for approximately $837.
As for Apple's overall Q4 2026 financial results, the company's revenue amounted to $114.5 billion, up from $102.5 billion during the same quarter in 2025.
