The latest Beats collaboration brings Pokemon to the Beats Pill, featuring everyone's favorite electric mouse and its ghostly doppelganger in special packaging launching October 15.

Beats by Dre is a subsidiary of Apple, who is no stranger to the Pokemon franchise. After a brief visit to his friend Tim Cook at Apple Park, Pikachu is now appearing on one of the company's products.

Beats and Pokemon have revealed the special-edition Beats Pill with Pikachu and Mimikyu art on the speaker grill. The gray speaker features Pikachu with electric bolts raised on the surface next to a grayscale rendition of the ghost Pokemon Mimikyu.

It's still the same Beats Pill you can buy in other colors for $149, but with a splash of Pokemon flair. The packaging is designed to let the Pokemon's ears pop up for display.

Also, a Beats By Dre first, the Beats Pill will include charms for the lanyard. They are a Pokeball, lightning bolt, and Beats "b" logo.

For the Pokemon fans

The speaker was revived in 2024 with improved audio, 24-hour battery life, and IP67 water and dust resistance. It works great with Android smartphones or iPhone, and supports Lossless audio when connected over USB-C.

Pikachu needs no introduction, as it is more recognizable globally than even Nintendo's Mario. The yellow electric mouse has been a staple of the franchise since its inception in 1996.

Mimikyu, however, is a more recent addition to the franchise. It is said to be a ghost Pokemon that built its costume from a rag to mimic Pikachu in the hopes that its popularity would let it make friends.

Peeking under that rag could prove fatal, as any that have seen what is underneath have died suddenly soon after.

The new Beats Pill will no doubt prove popular for Pokemon fans, and its arrival in October with Mimikyu front and center isn't a mistake. The spooky speaker will be available at Apple Stores and Target starting October 15 for the same $149 price.
