Giving hope to people with long pre-order delays, manufacturer Foxconn appears to say that it can readily fulfill even the iPhone Duo's surge in demand.
It sold out the instant pre-orders opened, and then only a lucky few were able to buy the iPhone Duo in-store. But even as shipping times remain long, Bloomberg reports that Foxconn has been saying it can meet any firm's demand.
"We have over 240 sites in 24 countries all over the world," said Michael Chiang, CEO of Foxconn's parent company, Hon Hai, "which enable us to have a timely supply to our customers' demand whenever they need."
"So I'm quite confident that we can fulfill the demand," he continued.
No guarantees
Importantly, Chiang did not discuss the iPhone Duo or even Apple specifically. He was responding to the question with a broad description of Foxconn's capacity, rather than committing to a timescale for the iPhone Duo.
However, Chiang is reportedly key in the relationship between Foxconn and Apple. It was he who took Apple chief operating officer Sabih Khan on a tour of the iPhone Duo manufacturing line in October 2026.
That tour was of Foxconn's central China facilities. According to the new report, this "iPhone City" is where the iPhone Duo is primarily made.
It's not known whether any other sites or any other manufacturers are producing the iPhone Duo.
Apple has been moving much of its manufacturing away from China. However, the iPhone Duo is a complex new product, and typically it takes time before other companies get orders to make a first generation device.
