After releasing an interactive timeline of every iPhone ever made, sheets.works is back with a similar project covering every iPad Apple has released since 2010. Here are the details.

Mapping out every iPad, ever

As part of its weekly Data Drop series, sheets.works turns datasets from fields such as technology, geopolitics, gaming, cinema, and sports into polished interactive visualizations.

This week, they released an interactive timeline with “every iPad Apple ever made, drawn to scale and shown in every colour.”

In addition to cataloging all 45 iPad models released to date across 131 colorways, the project charts how pricing has evolved across the iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro lineups since 2010.

The project also features individual cards for each model, complete with full spec sheets, along with highlights from the iPad’s history, including its 2010 debut, the removal of the Home button in favor of Face ID, and Apple’s transition to Apple silicon.

Users can also compare the thickness of selected iPad models over the years and explore a visual timeline showing Apple’s gradual shift beyond gray and silver to a broader range of colors.
