The M5 iPad Pro is the most powerful Apple tablet ever, with the same chip in the latest MacBook Air. And you can save $300 off the cost of the 13-inch variant, or save $250 on the 11-inch version. That drops the cost for both below what they were before last week’s price hike.

iPad Pro is a very capable computer for creatives and digital nomads, thanks to the M5 processor. And don’t overlook the gorgeous OLED display and Mac-like operation thanks to iPadOS 26.

  • Midsize Apple tablet with big-time performance

Cons:
  • Pricey

I’m Cult of Mac‘s resident iPad specialist. I use one constantly and test all the new models. I love the ultra-slim and powerful M5 iPad Pro. Don’t miss my 5-star review of the tablet.

iPad Pro fits those who want a tablet for more than content consumption — it’s the tablet for creators. That could be writers and bloggers like me, or artists pushing the capabilities of the computer to the max and creating digital masterpieces in Procreate.

In my home office or on the road, the iPad Pro’s lightweight design makes it ideal for quickly responding to emails, writing articles, editing images and much more. All the iPadOS 26 enhancements further help, making it easier to run multiple apps side by side so I can write while keeping up with email and Slack. Apple Intelligence helps speed up my workflow, too.

Apple switched to a new Tandem OLED display technology with the 2024 iPad Pro, which it claims is the “world’s most advanced display.” The version in the M5 iPad Pro delivers fantastic colors, contrast and details, and can hit 1,000 nits of brightness or even 1,600 nits on HDR content.

Another highlight of the latest iPad Pro is the M5 chip. The SoC brings a notable uplift in speed and efficiency over previous iPads. And it emphasizes improving the computer’s graphics performance. It’s “built for Apple Intelligence,” of course.

I push the M5 chip, doing lots of gaming and constantly switching between multiple applications. The tablet always comes through brilliantly. Plus, I maxed it out with an Apple Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro.

And right now, you can get a sweet discount on the world’s best tablet at Amazon.

M5 iPad Pro deal: Get up to $300 off

11-inch

Apple makes the M5 iPad Pro in two sizes. The 11-inch variant is the more portable option, making it the better choice for those who frequently expect to use the tablet on the go. It’s also a bit easier to afford, and Amazon sweetens the deal with a $250 discount.

Previously, this version sold for $999, but Apple recently hiked the price to $1,199. Thankfully, this deal drops your cost back below that original one.

13-inch

The 13-inch variant of the M5 iPad Pro provides a large amount of screen area to work in. And despite its generous display, it’s super-thin: just 0.20 inches. It comes at a premium price, but Amazon hopes to entice buyers with a $300 discount. That’s 20% off.

Until recently, this top-of-the-line tablet sold for $1,299. Last week, it went up to $1,499. The good news for shoppers is Amazon’s deal lowers the cost to $100 below the original price.
