Newly published property filings show that Foxconn has bought 110,100 square feet of buildings in Santa Clara, and is believed to be planning to turn them into factories.

Santa Clara is a popular area for technology firms to buy or lease office space, including Nvidia. Even Apple, based just six miles away at Apple Park, has spent over $1.1 billion on space there. Now according to local site The Mercury News, Foxconn has paid $54.6 million for empty buildings at 2975 and 3001 Stender Way.

The former is currently 45,800 square feet, while the latter is 64,300 square feet, and Foxconn describes both as "factory space." It's not clear whether Foxconn intends to demolish or repurpose what were previously research and industrial buildings.

However, the new public filing and in particular the purchase prices listed match a previous report about Foxconn's plans to expand in Santa Clara. In August 2026, TechnetBook reported that Foxconn bought land and factory facilities for its Q Edge subsidiary.

Q Edge Corporation is a 100% American-owned subsidiary of the iPhone manufacturer. The land purchase is said to have followed this subsidiary getting a $188 million investment specifically to increase production of AI hardware and server racks.

Separately, Santa Clara was one of Apple's main sites for its now-abandoned project to build an Apple Car. Some 371 employees were laid off there in 2024.
