iOS 26.5.2 released this week, but another iPhone software update will be here soon. Here’s when to expect iOS 26.6 to launch to all users.
iOS 26.6 launch expected in late July, with iOS 27 following in September

Apple recently unveiled its major new 2027 software updates, including iOS 27, macOS Golden Gate, and more.
Those updates won’t launch to all users until September. But there’s another iPhone update coming much sooner.
iOS 26.6 is currently in beta testing, with a release expected soon.
Here’s an overview of previous iOS x.6 release dates:
- iOS 18.6: Tuesday, July 29
- iOS 17.6: Monday, July 29
- iOS 16.6: Monday, July 24
As you can see, Apple follows very predictable patterns with its software launches.
Based on this history, iOS 26.6 is expected to release on or around Monday, July 27.
It could also debut later that same week, or perhaps the week of July 20 instead. Either way, late July is a safe bet for the iOS 26.6 release date.
So far in the beta cycle, the update appears focused only on bug fixes and other underlying changes. That’s not unusual for x.6 updates, since Apple has largely turned its focus to the major fall updates internally.
