iOS 27 has been available in developer beta for almost a month, but there’s a public beta version coming soon. Here’s when the iOS 27 public beta is expected to release.
iOS 27 public beta confirmed for July, likely mid-month

Are you excited to try out Siri AI, or any of iOS 27’s other new features for iPhone?
iOS 27’s official launch won’t be until September, but anyone is welcome to try it out early via Apple’s free beta software program.
Apple has confirmed the iOS 27 public beta will launch in July.
That means we’re officially now in the release month. And based on recent history, iOS 27’s public beta might be only a couple weeks away. Here are previous years’ public beta launch dates:
- iOS 26: Thursday, July 24
- iOS 18: Monday, July 15
- iOS 17: Wednesday, July 12
- iOS 16: Monday, July 11
Typically, the first public beta for a major iOS update arrives about a week after the third developer beta.
We’re expecting iOS 27 developer beta 3 sometime in the coming week, which makes a public beta launch the following week likely.
As a result, mid-July is the expected release timing for iOS 27’s public beta—potentially as early as Monday, July 13, or shortly thereafter.
It’s worth noting that last year, iOS 26’s public beta launched after four developer betas, not three. But in recent history, it’s the exception to an otherwise predictable pattern.
New features coming in iOS 27

The single biggest upgrade in iOS 27 is Siri AI, which is only available on compatible iPhones.
iOS 27 also brings refinements to Liquid Glass and lets you customize the design with a new slider. There are also numerous bug fixes and performance improvements that should speed up everyday tasks on iPhone.
Popular Apple apps get plenty of new features in iOS 27 too, including Messages, Notes, Photos, Calendar, Maps, Music, Safari, and more.
Additionally, iOS 27 brings a handful of upgrades for CarPlay and AirPods users too.
The update is available on all iPhones that support iOS 26. But a large majority of tentpole features are dependent on Apple Intelligence, so they’re only available on newer iPhones.
Do you plan to install iOS 27 ahead of its fall launch? Why or why not? Let us know in the comments.
