As it launched a new iPad mini, Apple has also announced that there is more to come throughout the week.
Previously when Apple has announced a week of launches, it has turned out to mean Monday through Wednesday. That looks to be the case this time, too, as the newly updated iPad mini seems certain to be followed by the OLED touch-screen M6 MacBook Pro, and an iMac.
Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing, now routinely tweets about launches, although usually ahead of the first one. As ever, though, he of course stops short of any detail.
What to expect
So it's not certain either what Apple will launch this week or how many days of launches there will be. But the company has already promoted what it calls Pro and Tell for Wednesday, October 28.
But based on that plus how Apple knows how to put on a show, it's likely that the touch-screen MacBook Pro will conclude the launches on Wednesday.
This pattern of holding briefings for press rather than public events follows its similar presentations over the launch of the HomeView. Apple will most probably release videos about all of its new products on October 28.
The new MacBook Pro's most significant update will be the addition of a touch-screen for the first time. It's also due to have that screen be an improved OLED one.
OLED MacBook Pro is expected to have a M5 Max and M5 Pro processor, the same as the Mac Studio refresh.
It's expected that Apple will also launch an M6 version of the iMac, and existing MacBook Pro.
The iMac is also believed to be getting an improved OLED screen at some point, but probably not at this launch.
