Apple's Health app redesign isn't launching quite yet, but iPadOS 27.2 does introduce a new Siri AI function when selecting text.
Apple's point updates are hit or miss in terms of OS-specific features across platforms. For iPadOS 27.2, it's a smaller release, but there's still something to try out.
When you're selecting text using a trackpad or mouse, a contextual popup will appear prompting you to "Ask Siri." The popup already appears on macOS when performing the same action, so Apple has ported it to iPadOS.
The function also resurfaces Writing Tools commands like "rewrite" or "proofread" when selecting this option. It's a simpler action than using the right-click menu to type a Siri command.
Siri AI is also getting more languages. It now supports use in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.
The Apple TV app now supports user profiles on iPad. It's not quite multi-user support, but at least letting your kids watch TV on your iPad won't ruin your Up Next.
Apple has also included anniversary reminders in the calling context that shows up when someone calls. Users in the EU will also see App Tracking Transparency prompts once per year.
The redesigned Apple Health app with Apple Intelligence features was briefly available with beta versions of iPadOS 27.2. However, that feature was pulled before the release candidate and is expected to return in iPadOS 27.3, potentially for final release.
How to install iPadOS 27.2
Those with automatic updates enabled should see iPadOS 27.2 automatically installed within a few days. If you'd prefer to manually install the update, navigate to Settings -> General -> Software Update.
