A video shared by a leaker with some track record appears to show two of the new iPhone 18 Pro colors as part of a display at a retail store.

The brief video clip shows both the dark cherry and blue colors we’re expecting, but it is almost certainly fake …

The video is just 14 seconds long and shows someone holding a dark cherry iPhone 18 Pro Max, placing a dark blue iPhone 17 Pro Max next to it for comparison. We also see a light blue model on a stand.

The environment appears to be a retail store. Macworld suggests it’s possible that it’s genuine.

Given how soon they will need to appear in stores, it’s plausible that outlets will have already received demo units, although it’s obviously risky for one to allow footage to leak online before the announcements.

I’m very much more sceptical, however.

My colleague Fernando Silva recently attended the IFA trade show, and said that every single case company had dummy units that looked and felt real, so it’s trivial to obtain these. Additionally, the store environment looks sketchy to me. The display table is extremely small for a store, and the product tags appear to simply be unattached and sitting at a random angle. We also see very little in the way of a convincing store background.

Finally, while the leaker has had a track record in the past, they have more recently simply been aggregating posts from Chinese social media.
