A repetitive but generally reliable leaker has listed specifications for the forthcoming iPhone 18, and one significant update may be increased battery life.
Leaker Digital Chat Station has recently taken to reposting previous rumors as new, including ones about the iPhone 18e. Much of their latest report is, again, a repeat, but it does add that the battery life will be extended.
The post is written on the Chinese social media site Weibo and this detail about the battery comes at the end of a short list of iPhone 18 specifications:
- 6.3-inch 1.5K 120Hz OLED
- Regular Dynamic Island (not the smaller new one)
- 2nm A20 processor
- Face ID
- 48MP dual-camera system
There are no specifications given for the battery size, so it's possible that this is just reasonable speculation. Apple generally increases battery capacity each year, as it has done most recently with the iPhone 18 Pro.
Similarly, the iPhone 17 had a larger battery than the iPhone 16. However, that was due in part to Apple using the space previously taken by a physical SIM card, so there won't be the same option again.
The new leak also says that the price of the iPhone 18 is likely to be higher than its predecessor, the iPhone 17. That again could be just informed speculation, though.
Nonetheless, the leaker predicts that the iPhone 18 will be a big seller. They don't appear to have based this on accounts of Apple's orders, though, so yet again this may be just reasonable expectation.
