The iPhone Duo is coming this week for a select lucky few, which includes one of your hosts but not the other, plus HomeView's benefits are still debatable, and Apple has thoughts about AI superfans, all on the AppleInsider Podcast.
It's the old Mr Micawber idea: iPhone Duo worked, result happiness. iPhone Duo pre-order pushed back to 2027, result misery.
As this podcast was recorded one of your hosts has successfully ordered an iPhone Duo and the other hasn't. Consequently if you want a happy podcast, listen to just the left channel.
Amongst all of the attention the iPhone Duo pre-orders got, though, it's been rather missed that the HomeView has slipped back too. Delivery dates are not as dramatically later as with the iPhone Duo, but the delay is real.
So, the HomeView is looking like a hit. It would be interesting if we could ever know how many have been bought as experiment while people look to see how useful they are.
Then there are definitely people who find AI more useful than others, and this week Greg Joswiak had a name for them. They don't like it very much.
BONUS: Subscribe via Patreon or Apple Podcasts to hear AppleInsider+, the extended edition. This time, HomeView is not exactly a divisive device, but finding a place for it in the Apple ecosystem is easy for one of your hosts, but not yet the other.
