Today is iPhone Duo launch day, and it’s a worldwide party at Apple Stores.
In a press release published this morning, Apple is sharing pictures from the iPhone Duo launch around the world. 9to5Mac readers have also shared pictures from their local Apple Stores.
Apple says:
On Friday, October 23, the highly anticipated iPhone Duo made its debut at Apple Store locations worldwide. Across the globe, customers filled stores and team members invited them to experience the first foldable iPhone, offering hands-on demos and personalized shopping support.
Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, is celebrating the launch at Apple’s flagship Fifth Avenue store in New York, alongside Apple’s retail executive Vanessa Trigub.
Apple CEO John Ternus, meanwhile, is celebrating the launch in Austin, TX at Apple’s Domain NORTHSIDE location alongside retail chief Deirdre O’Brien. Mark Gurman reports that Ternus toured Apple’s offices in Austin this week. The Formula 1 United States Grand Prix is also taking place in Austin this weekend, and Apple is the exclusive F1 streamer in the US.
Lines formed at Apple Stores worldwide overnight, with people hoping to buy an iPhone Duo with walk-in availability. Apple warned it would have “limited” inventory at retail stores, and that appears to be the case. Apple Store workers are telling disappointed shoppers to check the Apple Store app tomorrow at 10.m. ET for in-store inventory details.
