It's not just iPhone. Apple admits that Mac or iPad supplies are going to be tight for the holiday quarter. Maybe buy now if you see a deal?
The fall and holiday sales period is the prime time for Apple, with consumers purchasing its latest releases. However, those in the market for the new iPad mini or a MacBook Pro may face a bit of a delay.
During the Apple conference call for its Q4 financial results, Apple confirmed that there will be constraints across the board on Mac and iPad availability, running all the way through the Christmas period.
The main and obvious reason for this is the global memory crisis, which is impacting not only prices of components but availability, too. With less memory available to go around, Apple doesn't have as ample supply as normal for its production lines.
Consumers are already seeing long wait times for their products, beyond the usual initial launch period. As of October 29, the iPhone Duo was showing new orders as delivered by late January.
The Mac Studio has wait times going between 7 week to 8 weeks for the M5 Ultra Edition, ranging up to 10 weeks to 12 weeks for the same model with 512GB of RAM. Some models of the new non-touch 14-inch MacBook Pro have a ten business day delivery time with the Nano-texture display.
