A new report claims that Apple is planning to release a second generation of its hit MacBook Neo in the first half of 2027.
The original MacBook Neo was released in March 2026 and proved to be an enormous success. It was such a hit that there was immediately a belief that a next-generation model would follow, and even unsupported wishful thinking that it would be a touch-screen one.
Now Bloomberg is reporting that the second generation MacBook Neo will launch in the first half of 2027. There are no further details in this report, nor any more precise schedule.
Previously, however, Bloomberg has claimed that the MacBook Neo 2 would be based on an A19 processor and feature 12GB of RAM. The current model uses a A18 Pro processor with 8GB RAM.
Reportedly, the MacBook Neo 2 will also sport a new range of colors. At present, the device is available in Blush, Citrus, Indigo, and Silver.
It can only be speculation, but it wouldn't be surprising if Apple launched the MacBook Neo 2 on the anniversary of the first one in March 2027. Then if there are no further price hikes, the MacBook Neo 2 would probably be priced the same as the current model.
When that was first launched, it cost $599 or $699, mostly depending on storage.. In June 2026, though, Apple raised both tiers by $100, citing the global chip shortage.
