A new Apple TV 4K is launching soon, expected to launch at the iPhone event in just a few weeks. And an Apple code leak uncovered by MacRumors indicates a new Siri Remote is coming.

macOS code references next-generation Apple TV Remote

Yesterday Apple released a wide array of public and beta software updates. And one of them—the macOS 26.7 RC—included references to many products that haven’t yet been announced.

MacRumors discovered, for example, a video showing AirPods with cameras in action.

A new Siri Remote for Apple TV 4K makes an appearance in the list of unreleased products too. Juli Clover writes:

There’s a mention of ATVRemote1,5, which appears to be a new Apple TV remote. Rumors previously suggested the next ‌Apple TV‌ could come with an updated remote control.

Mark Gurman has previously reported that the forthcoming hardware refresh would come with “possibly a tweaked Apple TV remote.”

The discovery of this next generation of Siri Remote in macOS 26.7 suggests a new remote is indeed coming this fall.

There haven’t been any rumors around specific changes to expect with the remote. However, one common feature request is the ability to find a lost remote more easily. Perhaps Apple’s second-generation Ultra Wideband chip seen in AirTag 2 could be added to the Siri Remote.
