The third developer beta of iOS 27 is here, with added customization options for Siri AI, visual tweaks, and more. Here's what's new.

On Monday, two weeks after the arrival of iOS 27 beta 2, Apple made the third developer beta available for download. While iOS 27 beta 1 delivered the long-overdue Siri AI, the second beta included enhancements for the Apple Home and Apple Wallet apps.

Notably, for most, the entire Siri AI model needs to be redownloaded between beta 2 and beta 3. For some users, this has made the features gated behind a wait-list again.

Accordingly, Monday's update once again contains Siri and AI-related changes. In the Settings app, Apple has enabled voice customization options for the new-and-improved Siri, but only for devices with the A19 Pro chip. Advanced Siri AI features require at least 12GB of RAM, hence the restriction.

Owners of an iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, or iPhone 17 Pro Max running iOS 27 beta 3 can customize the pace and expressivity of Siri's new natural voice through two dedicated sliders. Siri AI animations have also been updated, as there's now a noticeable glow effect beneath the Siri bubble.

Additionally, Apple has tweaked the related "Indexing" message that appears in the Settings app. It has been renamed to "Optimizing Search and Siri." In the Camera app, Apple has included a notice specifying that Siri Mode requires Siri AI.

As with most beta updates, visual tweaks are also present in iOS 27 beta 3. The Reminders app icon has been modified so that it now includes bullet points with a darker center.

macOS Golden Gate beta 3, meanwhile, includes a new wallpaper featuring the iconic Golden Gate Bridge in California.

Overall, the third developer beta of iOS 27 is a relatively light release. Aside from the Siri voice customization options, the beta doesn't offer anything the average user would even notice.
