Apple is set to reveal a range of new products during its "Surprise and Shine" event on Wednesday, but a new set of product identifiers likely aren't indicative of what's being announced.
Product identifiers tell you very little about a product and often leave you guessing until they're found in official documentation for an already-released product. A list found in Apple's backend shows 37 new hardware identifiers for iPhones, Macs, and other products, but nothing else.
According to the social media post from code sleuth Aaron Perris, these new identifiers appeared in Apple's backend. While most are likely previously rumored products, at least one is a mystery.
There are seven new iPhones listed while only six are known to be coming soon. Those include the iPhone 18e, iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone Ultra, and iPhone Air 2.
The seventh device could be an unknown variant, like a secondary size for the iPhone Air 2 or iPhone 18e, or another device entirely.

The rest of the list includes Apple's upcoming M6 Mac models, iPad updates, and various Apple Watch models with different material options. Rumors also indicate a new Apple TV with a more powerful chip is coming, plus the Home Hub and other home accessories could finally debut soon too.
That said, these indicators showing up in Apple's backend don't mean they'll be announced during the "Surprise and Shine" Apple Event on Wednesday. Whether they've been added to the backend accidentally or for regulatory purposes, their existence really doesn't say much about anything beyond "Apple is making more products."
