Silo returns later this week for season 3, and the first reviews indicate the new season could be the show’s best yet thanks in part to a new split-timeline story.

Silo season 3 premieres this Friday, with strong early reviews

One of Apple’s most popular sci-fi hits, Silo, is about to debut its season 3 premiere. And early reviews point to an especially strong return.

Here’s a sampling of review excerpts:

  • The Seattle Times: “best season yet…one of the best seasons of TV I’ve watched in a while”
  • Screen Rant: “completely different from the…first two seasons, in a good way”
  • RadioTimes: “[season 3] kicks up a notch – and ends with a finale that is, to date, the best ever episode of the show“

Reviewers especially praise the new “Before Times” storyline that plays out alongside Juliette’s “present day” storyline inside the silo. It’s based on book 2 in Hugh Howey’s trilogy, my personal favorite of the novels.

Silo season 3 premieres this Friday, July 3 with one episode, followed by weekly releases through September 4.

The dystopian sci-fi series has been renewed for season 4, and that next season is already fully shot. So we’ll likely get an especially short wait for the series’ conclusion.
