Apple is reportedly preparing an October 28 launch for a series of iPad and Mac releases, ranging from the OLED touch-screen MacBook Pro to a new iPad mini.
Following its unveiling of the HomeView on October 12, 2026 with briefings and videos rather than an event, Apple is now expected to do the same again. According to Bloomberg, an extensive all-day press briefing is now scheduled for Wednesday, October 28.
This second launch has been rumored for some time, and believed to center on the expected OLED touch-screen MacBook Pro. There has also been speculation that it might feature a mixture of Mac and iPad launches.
Specifically, an updated iPad mini with an OLED screen has been predicted. Rumors claim that it will have an 8.4-inch LTPS rear panel with hybrid OLED, but also a 60Hz refresh rate and so no ProMotion.
The new claim that the October 28 unveiling will include M6 Macs, plural, could mean the 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro, but most likely refers to the iMac. It's now two years since the iMac was updated, and previous reports have claimed that an M6 version would be released before the end of 2026.
It could be quite close to the end of the year, though. If an M6 iMac is launched on October 28, it's unlikely that it will be shipping that day.
Instead, it's much more likely that pre-orders will open in early November, with shipping between the middle and the end of the month. Apple will presumably want the earliest date possible, as an iMac could be a big seller for the holiday season.
The new HomeView could well be the same. That would help Apple's earnings, as this year, it does not have a new base iPhone in its lineup.
