Travel planning app Tripsy was updated this week with support for iOS 27’s extra-large widget, a new Smart Import tool, AI-powered features, and more. Here are the details.
Tripsy update adds AI-powered features
During Apple’s “Surprise and Shine” event, the company briefly mentioned indie travel planning app Tripsy while showcasing some of iOS 27’s new Siri AI features. Apple followed up with an iOS 27 press release earlier this week, highlighting that Siri will soon be able to add restaurant recommendations directly to Tripsy.
The app, which was also a 2024 App Store Award finalist, was updated to version 3.10 earlier this week with new features, including AI-powered tools and support for iOS 27 features.
That includes the new Smart Import feature, which can turn links, documents (including PDFs), saved emails, screenshots, accessible Instagram and TikTok posts, and pasted text into places and reservations inside the app.
Smart Import also supports importing Google Maps and Apple Maps lists and guides, and lets users choose which suggested items they want to actually add to their trip.
Similarly, the update introduces Smart Insights, which uses Apple’s Foundation Models to analyze attached documents and emails on-device and surface useful trip details such as baggage allowances, breakfast, parking, cancellation policies, and costs.
Other improvements in Tripsy 3.10 include:
- Support for iOS 27’s extra-large iPhone widget, with a more complete itinerary view.
- Improved travel statistics refresh, map stability, and Mac import layouts.
- Improved location suggestions, including access to all trip hotels and the option to dismiss airport departure suggestions that are no longer needed.
Tripsy notes that Smart Import and Smart Insights are available with a Pro subscription, priced at $59 per year or $299 for lifetime access.
