Apple TV just dropped trailers for two upcoming premieres

Apple TV just kicked off a new season of Slow Horses, and plenty more premieres are coming soon, including a new movie and returning show that just got new trailers.

#1: Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars (season 2)

Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars is a culinary docuseries that first debuted last fall and has a new season coming very soon.

If you’re into The Bear, but want a real-world, nonfiction version of the show, Knife Edge might be the perfect fit. Its first season scored a BAFTA nomination for excellence in “Factual Entertainment.”

Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars returns next Friday, September 25 for season 2.

Across season two, “Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars” follows 16 restaurants at pivotal moments in their journeys: A chef and his family risk everything to put a tiny island on Michelin’s map. Two generations of a legendary culinary family pursue recognition on their own terms. Two chefs voluntarily give up their Star when they open a new restaurant and have just 52 days to win it back. One sandwich shop transforms into a fine dining restaurant each night, while a young couple seeks to put Filipino cuisine at the center of one of America’s most competitive dining scenes. Their circumstances could hardly be more different, yet each faces the same uncertainty: When Michelin makes its decision, will everything they have strived for be enough?

#2: Tenzing

Apple Original Films has a pair of movies coming this fall that have big award ambitions. The first of those titles is Tenzing.

The film hails from award-winning director Jennifer Peedom and stars Genden Phuntsok, Tom Hiddleston, Willem Dafoe, Caitríona Balfe, Thinley Lhamo, and Tenzin Dalha.

Tenzing hits select theaters on Friday, October 9 before streaming October 16 on Apple TV.

Based on true events, “Tenzing” chronicles the little-known story of Tenzing Norgay (Phuntsok), a gifted Himalayan climber who, alongside New Zealand mountaineer Edmund Hillary (Hiddleston), became the first to summit Mount Everest. Encouraged by his wife, Dawa (Lhamo), Tenzing finds an ally in expedition secretary Jill Henderson (Balfe). Together, they persuade Colonel John Hunt (Dafoe) that Tenzing belongs on the British climbing team, rather than merely serving it. Where Western climbers see “Everest” as something to be conquered, Tenzing reveres “Chomolungma” as the sacred mother goddess. What follows is an ascent defined as much by the tensions between backgrounds, classes and competing ambitions as by the perils of the mountain itself. But high above the world, empire, rank and aspiration fall away, leaving two outsiders bound by mutual respect and trust — and for Tenzing, the fulfillment of both a lifelong dream and a spiritual calling.
