These are my favorite iPhone 18 Pro & Pro Max cases so far [Video]

The new iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max have been out for a week, and they have been amazing devices to use and test. While the actual footprint and visual design remain unchanged, Apple spiced things up with new colors like Glacier, Burgundy, and a true Deep Black version. These colors are a nice new addition to the iPhone lineup, but, of course, the main question I get asked is: What case should I get to protect my new $ 1,200+ device? Luckily, there are already hundreds of case options for the new 18 Pro lineup, and I have been lucky enough to test a bunch. I know cases are purely subjective and a matter of preference, but I figured I would share some of my favorites!

I have always leaned towards ultra-thin and minimal cases. I like being able to protect my iPhone while still feeling its actual design. If thinness and lightweight cases are what you are into then Pitaka’s Edge cases are the first option I would consider. You get:

Nomad’s Sport Case gives you that perfect balance of everyday protection while staying relatively thin and lightweight. I went with the Lunar Gret color to contrast with the Deep Black iPhone, and it looks fantastic. This case brings:

• Microfiber interior lining to help protect your iPhone
• Raised camera and screen edges for additional protection
• Built-in MagSafe compatibility and a dedicated Camera Control cover

If you want a high-quality, no-frills case that keeps your phone protected while still making it look awesome, I would look into the Nomad Sport case. It’s available on Amazon for $55!

This is easily one of the most unique and fun cases that I have ever reviewed. The Xtremm Inno puts a color E-Ink display on the rear of the iPhone that is 100% customizable. You can put any image you want on there, like family photos, team logos, anime characters, literally anything. It’s all done via NFC, so the case does not need a battery, power, or Bluetooth, keeping it as thin and light as any other regular case. It feels like magic.

Now, if you need something a bit more rugged with added protection but still want to show off that new burgundy iPhone color, then Rokform is a great choice. Not only is it extremely protective, but It Also has Rokform’s proprietary locking system in addition to MagSafe. This makes it even more useful for someone who needs to securely mount their iPhone on a bike, motorcycle, or other devices that require more than just magnets.

• Transparent back panel that shows off your iPhone’s color

This is a brand that I had not heard much about until this year. They have been around for a while, but they just released their new Weave line, and I love the design, texture, and multifunctionality of it all. You get:

• Textured woven exterior with a comfortable grip
• Integrated kickstand
• Speaker channels designed to direct audio forward
• Raised edges for screen and camera protection
• Built-in MagSafe

The speaker directional feature is something I had not seen before, and it actually makes a nice difference. Because of how the speaker cutout is designed, it directs the audio right at you rather than to your left or right. Very unique touch! The BodyGuardz Weave is available on Amazon for $59

If you are someone who misses the old iPhone leather cases of years past, then Andar is the next best alternative. I have been using their cases for years, and they are some of the best leather cases on the market. You get:

• Genuine leather exterior that develops a unique patina over time and smells fantastic
• Soft microfiber interior lining
• Raised edges around the display and camera for additional protection
• Dedicated Camera Control cover and tactile metal buttons
• Built-in MagSafe compatibility and multiple color options

Their new black color matches the Deep Black iPhone so well that it almost makes the iPhone disappear in the shadows. They have over 10 colors to choose from, and these cases just get better with time. The Andar Aspen Case is available for $70 and can be purchased directly through Andar.

Spigen’s Nano Pop case is a great option if you are looking for something that will color-match and enhance your new iPhone. It has a two-tone design that looks especially nice with the new Burgundy iPhone, and it also has uniquely textured sides for additional grip in the hand. The Pop case gives you:

• Two-tone design with contrasting colors
• Flexible, rubberized construction with textured sides for additional grip
• Raised edges and protection around the entire camera plateau
• Dedicated Camera Control cover
• Built-in lanyard attachment point

This one is the most budget-friendly of the bunch as well, sitting at just $21 directly from Amazon

Final take

As I mentioned in the intro, cases are highly subjective purchases. It is almost like clothing but for your phone. There is no right or wrong answer to any of these, just a matter of what you think works and looks best. All of these have their own unique selling points and differentiators, and they come from very reputable brands, so there is no going wrong with any of them. I personally like to keep it as thin and light as possible, while I know my brother likes his cases bulky and protective.
